NO JOB GROWTH IN AUGUST: ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW WHY!
This NY Times article reveals that the economy basically stopped growing in August, creating no jobs. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/03/business/economy/united-states-showed-no-job-growth-in-august.html?_r=1&hp
I wonder why???  Could it be the embarrassing spectacle in Washington which “ended” on August 3 that nearly resulted in our defaulting on our debts?  Could it be the ensuing stock market crash that took 10-20% off the market value of many publicly traded companies?  How about Standard and Poors taking away our federal government’s AAA rating?  Those things couldn’t possibly have affected business confidence and employers’ hiring plans, could they?
Could it be a whole wing of the Republican party basically refusing to pay our bills, for many of the things they previously voted for, like the wars and the trillion dollar tax giveaway last December? Could it be a whole wing of the Democratic party refusing to acknowledge the role of entitlement spending in our debt crisis?
Couldn’t have anything to do with our pathetic political system’s inability to manage our economy, could it?
You tell me… .
