The Tea Party’s gift to Conan O’Brien, Michelle Bachmann, promised in South Carolina yesterday that as President, she’d get gas prices back under $2 a gallon. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/61566.html  Unless her economic “advisors” have told her to count on a catastrophic double dip recession in her first term, this might be a bit of a stretch.  This was the second howler in mere days, after celebrating her beloved Elvis Presley’s birthday five months early…

In Vietnam, the soldiers with the highest mortality rate were the radiomen, because they wore heavy packs with long whip antennae sticking out of the jungle foliage.  Like the radiomen, Michelle Bachmann is a sniper magnet.   A clever and telegenic campaigner, Bachmann will never know what hit her.
