Internet Repression Ahead?
This Wall Street Journal opinion piece explores how Britain tried to copy repressive regimes to crack down on IM-directed rioting in British cities. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111903918104576502214236127064.html?mod=WSJ_hp_mostpop_read
Apparently, British authorities asked Research in Motion to suspend Blackberry service in the country, perhaps heedless of the effect that it would have on the British economy which uses also uses it.
Here’s an innovative suggestion:  how about arresting and prosecuting the arsonists and looters?  Restricting access to social media may work in Iran, but they are the lifeblood of a modern economy and society.
