See What We Started?

I’ve heard a lot of patronizing cultural explanations about why the Arab world doesn’t have democracies or advanced economies.  A lot of those arguments have been blown right out the window in the past three weeks by events in Egypt.

How clear does it have to be:  Egyptian people faced down a ruthless dictator with nothing but rocks, social media and an almost insane courage.  They were willing to die rather than to continue living under tyranny.  This very same impulse and courage is where our country came from.   Our American revolution started a revolution in the rest of the world which is still going on.  However it may destabilize our New World Order, it is thrilling to see what the young people of Egypt did.  God bless them.  It’s going to take a lot of luck and hard work to get the society they deserves…
